What it is

What to check before you buy

• Exact model fit. Phone models change dimensions and camera cutouts constantly. A protector for the wrong variant of the same model line will sit badly and lift at the corners.
• 9H hardness is close to meaningless. It refers to a pencil hardness scale, and essentially every tempered glass protector claims it. It tells you nothing useful about impact resistance.
• Oleophobic coating. This is the specification that actually affects daily use – it is what stops fingerprints smearing and lets your finger glide. Cheap protectors omit it and the screen feels sticky.

Fitting it without trapped dust
