Fast Charging Three-In-One USB Data Cable

$4.01★ 4.90 / 5

Why we shortlisted it. Multi-head cables solve the universal drawer problem: three devices, three different plugs. This one shows more than 100,000 orders at a 4.90 marketplace rating for about four dollars, which is roughly a quarter of what a single branded cable costs locally.

What it is

One USB cable that terminates in three connectors – typically USB-C, Lightning and micro-USB – either on short pigtails or nested so one folds into another. The idea is a single cable in the car or the bag that charges whatever anyone hands you.

What to check before you buy

  • What “fast charging” means here. The phrase is unregulated. Real fast charging needs the cable to carry the right wattage and the right data lines for the protocol your phone uses – USB Power Delivery for most modern phones. A three-head cable rarely does full-speed PD on all three heads.
  • Whether it carries data at all. Many cheap multi-cables are charge-only. If you want to move photos off a phone, check explicitly.
  • Amperage rating. Look for a stated 3A minimum. Thin conductors get warm and charge slowly.
  • Simultaneous charging. Three heads does not mean three devices at once at full speed – the available current is split, and some cables will not do it at all.

Where to buy one in Brandon today

Best Buy and myITsource.ca at Corral Centre, and Staples on 18th Street, all carry certified cables. For Apple devices specifically, look for the MFi certification – uncertified Lightning cables are the ones that stop working after an iOS update. The carrier kiosks inside Shoppers Mall (WIRELESSWAVE, Rogers/Fido, Bell MTS, Telus) carry cables matched to the handsets they sell, and Dollarama has the cheap end covered if you just need something for the glovebox.

Where the compromise bites

A three-in-one is a convenience cable, not a performance one. It is the right thing for the car, the cottage bag, or the kitchen drawer everyone raids. It is the wrong thing for charging a laptop, for fast-charging a phone overnight, or for anything where a slow or intermittent connection would matter. Keep a proper single cable for your own phone and let the multi-head handle everyone else.
