Elegant Zirconia Decorative Stud Earrings Set
Why we shortlisted it. A multi-pair set of cubic zirconia studs for about two dollars, with a 4.90 marketplace rating across 10,000-plus orders. The order count is the lowest on our shortlist, so treat the signal as weaker than the rest – but the value proposition on a multi-pack of studs is straightforward.
What it is
A boxed set of stud earrings set with cubic zirconia – a lab-made stone, not a diamond and not sold as one. Sets usually range across a few sizes so you can wear a graduated set in multiple piercings, or just have spares, which is the honest appeal: studs are the earring people lose most.
What to check before you buy
- Post material. This is the one that matters. Nickel-bearing posts cause a lot of irritated earlobes. Look for surgical steel, titanium or sterling silver posts stated explicitly – a “hypoallergenic” claim with no material named is not worth much.
- Back type. Butterfly backs are the standard and the ones that fall off. Screw-backs or locking backs cost more and lose far fewer earrings.
- Setting quality. At this price the stones are usually glued or prong-set loosely. Expect to lose a stone eventually; check whether the set is worth it on that basis.
- Newly pierced ears. Do not use inexpensive costume studs in a fresh piercing. Wear what the piercer fitted until it is fully healed.
Where to buy one in Brandon today
Claire’s at Shoppers Mall is the natural local equivalent, and they do piercing as well as stud multipacks. Bentley and Pandora in the same mall cover the mid-range, and Michael Hill, Charm Diamond Centres and Reesor’s Jewellery are there when you want a real stone with a receipt and a warranty. Miniso stocks inexpensive sets. Ardene, also in the mall, runs frequent multi-buy deals on costume jewellery.
A word on cubic zirconia
Cubic zirconia is a perfectly good material with nothing to apologise for – it is bright, hard enough for daily wear, and inexpensive enough to be replaceable. What it is not is a diamond, and any listing that leans on words like “diamond-like” is working the edge of that. Buy it as what it is: an attractive stone that you will not be devastated to lose in a snowbank.
